2013 April 18 - Morning Manna

Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.(Ephesians 5:20-27)

Today's Morsel:One of the things about submission is that many people do not understand the importance of it. Some people think that to be submissive is to allow someone to rule and lord over them. But really, submission is for protection. When a wife submitts to her husband, she comes under his umbrella of protection. When a man submits to God, he comes under God's umbrella of protection and his family is protected. James tells us, "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7). So if we submit our lives to God, then we don't have to worry about the devil. Peter tells us, "Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well" (1 Peter 2:13-14); "And that Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble" (1 Peter 5:5). When we submit to God's order of authority, there is always protection and blessings that continue to flow.

Sing: I'll say yes, Lord, yes, to your will and to Your way. I'll say yes, Lord, yes, I will trust You and obey. When Your Spirit speaks to me, with my whole heart I'll agree, and my answer will be yes Lord, Yes.
