2013 January 14 - Morning Manna

By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you. (Hebrews 13:15-17)

Today's Morsel: Boy, I sure wish that people would learn how to do good and communicate in the church. When people don't do good and when they hit a rough spot in their lives, they don't realize that it makes it hard for people to help them. When they don't communicate and they become overwhelmed before they ask others to pray for them, others will say, why didn't they tell somebody before they got to this point.  The old saying, you aren't an island to yourself is true.  You need others and others need you.  I do believe you should choose carefully who you share things with, but you should have someone you can confide in to be there for you. The writer of Hebrews tells us, that to do good and communicate forget not because with these sacrifices God is well please.  Jesus was a communicator. He talked with His disciples. He told them, "Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you" (John 15:15). Remember, your pastor watches for your soul. Therefore, you might want to learn to communicate with them. As the writer said, "Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you" (Hebrews 13:17).

Sing: Are you ready should the Savior call today, would Jesus say well done or go away? My home is for the pure, the vile can never stay, we shall see the King when He comes.
