2012 July 4 - Morning Manna

For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee. (Psalms 84:10-12)
Today's Morsel: The psalmist said that a single day in the presence of God is far better than a thousand days elsewhere. Just to know that we have the peace and security of God's love should overwhelm us and draw us to Him. Just one day with Him should be desired more than a thousand days anywhere else. When we understand the importance of our praise and worship to God, and His lovingkindness towards us, we should desire to be in His presence. So many are hurting, lonely, and feeling dismay edbecause they don't understand the importance of the house of God. The house of God and attending church isn't about what it can do for me, but that as a believer I should desire to be in His presence. As David said, "In his presence is fullness of joy and at his right hand there are pleasures for evermore." If Jesus desires that His joy be in me and my joy be in me and that my joy be full, shouldn't we want to be in His presence?
Sing: Better is one day in Your courts, better is one day in Your house, better is one day in Your courts than thousands elsewhere. Better is one day in Your courts, better is one day in Your house, better is one day in Your courts than thousand's elsewhere, than thousands elsewhere.
