He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it. (Isaiah 25:8)
Today's Morsel: There is nothing like watching your team win. We all love winners and if you have read the back of the book, then you already know that we win. When I think of the salvation that Jesus brought for us, that's victory. Many will say, "But Jesus died on a cross, how is that victory?" The same as Paul said, dead worketh in us, but life in you. Jesus death brought victory for the believers. His death brought life. Isaiah said, "He will swallow up death in victory." Paul said, "Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord" (1 Corinthians 15:51-58). "The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death" (1 Corinthians 15:26). John said, "Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years" (Revelation 20:6). Anyway you look at it, it's a win-win situation.
Sing: Hallelujah, what a thought! Jesus full salvation brought, Victory, victory. Let the power of sin assail, Heaven's grace can never fail, Victory, victory.
Victory, yes, victory; Hallelujah! I am free, Jesus gives me victory. Glory, glory, hallelujah! He is all in all to me.
