But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.(Romans 13:14).
Today's Morsel: Do you have trouble deciding what you are going to wear? I know of people who have attended classes on “colors” so that what they wear, highlights their skin complexion; so that the attire they wear will make them look good. This is a highly paid professional business these days. Dress for success they say. In other words, wear the right attire when you are going looking for that high paying job and you just might get hired; and once you get the job, where the right clothes for the position to portray your professionalism. Paul said that we are to put on the Lord Jesus Christ and make not provision for the flesh. How do we put of Christ? Well, he tells us in Galatians 3:27 that as many as have been baptized into Christ, have put on Christ. So since you have on Christ, how should you look? Well, some think that your outward attire does not matter. Let me ask you a question? If you were going to interview for a high paying job, would you wear a pair of Daisy Dukes, hot shorts, or short pants? What about a T-shirt that says, “Born to be Wild?” What about a Mini Skirt, or pants with the knees missing? What about body piercing, or tattoos visible for everyone to see? You see, when you put on Christ, people must be able to see Christ in you. And that means even your outward appearance. Jeremiah was told to put the evidence in an earthen vessel. Some of it was sealed and some of it was open. However, what was sealed was the same as that which was open. How’s your attitude today? How’s your disposition? What’s outward should be what is inside; and what is on the inside should also be showing on the outside. The fruit of the Spirit should be seen from without, as the Holy Ghost is suppose to be what is within. Remember, you only get one chance to make a first impression on someone else.
Sing: I’ve got Jesus on the inside, working on the outside, Oh! What a change in my life; I’ve got Jesus on the inside, working on the outside, Oh, what a change in my life; I’ve got Jesus on the inside, working on the outside, Oh, what a change in my life, Oh what a change, in my life.
