2010 September 7 - Morning Manna

Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he (John 4:21-26).

Today's Morsel: How do you feel when someone shows up at your door that you were not expecting and surprises you? The woman at the well was expecting Jesus to come, but she wasn't expecting Him to come when He came. She was taken totally by surprise. Jesus said, "And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all" (Luke 17:26-27). They were taken by surprise. Jesus and His disciples laid the foundation for us to not be taken by surprise. The Word of God is filled with warnings to prepare us for His soon return. The signs are all pointing toward His soon return. Wars and rumors of wars; Earthquakes in divers places; Men's hearts failing them from looking at the things that are happening upon the earth. As the Apostle Paul told Timothy, "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth" (2 Timothy 3:1-7). They told us that as a thief comes in the night to watch, as Jesus would return in the same way. Therefore, we must be prepared as no man knows when Jesus will return for us. We are not going to live forever. From the first day that we entered into this world, we were headed towards death. Now is not the time to be consumed with this world, but as Peter told the people on the day of Pentecost, you must save yourselves from this untoward generation. While you have an opportunity, let me encourage you, ensure that your life is in line with the Word of God so that you are not taken by surprise. Our salvation is nearer then when we first believed!

Sing: All of heaven’s getting ready, for the last and final call. Heaven’s choir is all assembled, an invitation to one and all. We’re waiting with anticipation, it can happen any day, all in the blink of an eye from the eastern sky we’re gonna hear our Savior say.

Chorus: Get up (get up), get ready, We’re getting ready to go. Get a move on time cause in a little while, We’ll be going home. I made up my mind, I’m not wasting time, the trumpet’s about to blow, so get up, get ready, we’re getting ready to go.
