Following God
“The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.” (Proverbs 8:13)
Today’s Morsel: Do you every wonder what your life would be like if you hated what God hates and love what He loves? Do you know what destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah? It was their pride. “For thy sister Sodom was not mentioned by thy mouth in the day of thy pride,” (Ezekiel 16:56) God hates pride. It is an abomination to Him. It makes Him sick. Paul said that it would be one of the perils in the last days (2 Timothy 3:1-7). Even Solomon tells us, “Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.” (Proverbs 16:18) If we get in the habit of hating what God hates, and loving what God love, then those things that He hates and that could destroy us and cause us hurt will not be a part of our lives.
Sing: To be like Jesus, to be like Jesus, on earth I long to be like Him. All through life’s journey from earth to glory, I only ask to be like Him.
