Lost Talent
“Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.” (1 John 4:17-18)
Today’s Morsel: More talent is lost daily to the world because people don’t have the confidence within themselves due to fear, to do anything for Jesus. Everyone wants to go to heaven and be called a Christian, but few want to use their talents for Jesus to advance His kingdom. When I was a kid, I attended many gospel concerts, where men and women were using their talent to advance the kingdom of God. But then some of those same individuals started to listen to the devil, telling them that they could earn more money if they used their talent for him and the world. And many of them did, and they lost their lives because of the world’s ways. And that is what will kill you. Great godly talent lost to the world for money. I often wonder what Judas’ writings about Jesus may have been if he had not allowed money to pull his heart from Jesus, but rather if he had used his talent for the gospel’s sake? What are you using your talents for? Keep your heart and mind on Jesus and use your talent for the Kingdom.
Sing: Jesus use me, O’ Lord don’t refuse me, for surely there’s a work that I can do. And even though it’s humble, Lord, help my will to crumble. Though the cost be great, I’ll work for You.
