Do You Know Him?
“For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.” (Isaiah 45:18)
Today’s Morsel: One of the most essential things that Christian’s ought to know is who God is. Everything in our lives, as far as being a Christian and having an understanding of how we are to live the Christian life, flows from our knowledge of who God is. Can you imagine working for someone and never knowing who you are working for, or who the head of the company is? When I enlisted in the military, one of the first things that we learned, as brand-new soldiers, who was in our Chain of Command. We all knew that the top guy was the President of the United States. Therefore, when I came into the church, I wanted to know who the top guy was. I quickly learned that it was Jesus Christ, “Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.” (Colossians 1:15-18) I pray that you know who Jesus Christ is. As without Him, we can do nothing.
Sing: He’s the great I Am, the everlasting Father. He’s the Prince of Peace, the great eternal Wonder, The Holy Counselor, and Zion’s righteous governor. He is the great, He is the great I Am.
