Is Your Salvation According To The Word of God or Man?
“Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.” (Romans 10:1-2)
Today’s Morsel: What comes to your mind when you think about being saved? Every church and denomination will tell you that they have the salvation message. If that be the case, then why do we have so many denominations? Isn’t God one? Isn’t Jesus God? Didn’t Jesus establish only one way for people to be saved? Didn’t Paul us, “Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.” (Romans 16:17) Did he not tell Timothy; “Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.” (1 Timothy 4:16). He even told the church at Galatia, “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.” (Galatians 1:6-9) They allow others to draw their minds away from the truth of God’s word. So, is your salvation according to the Word of God, or according to man? Peter lets us know that “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12). Luke informs us of the instructions preached at the initial establishment of the New Testament Church, “Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.” (Acts 2:37-41) Have you compared what you were taught with the word of God? This is something that you must be one-hundred percent sure of. Eternity is a long time. So, we all need to be certain today that our salvation is based on the truth of God’s word. Hope to see you there!
Sing: Saved and I’m happy today, thanks be to God, for this I can say, that I’m saved and I’m happy today, I’m walking up the King’s highway.
