Decision Making
“Even from the days of
your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them.
Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith the LORD of hosts. But ye
said, Wherein shall we return?” (Malachi
3:7)
Today’s
Morsel:
One of the things about serving God is that you must not be afraid to make
decisions and you must not be fearful of making a mistake. Decision-making is
just a part of life and sometimes making mistakes may come along with our
decisions. But if you are fearful of making a decision about your life and walk
with God, you will probably be left in a holding pattern and never be able to
accomplish anything for the Lord. Scripture says that God called for the
children of Israel to return to Him, but they said wherein shall we return? It
was as though they didn’t know their right from their wrong. Throughout
scripture, God's word challenges us to always do what is right. Not sometimes
but always. That means we must decide if we are going to obey. Joshua
states: “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day
whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the
other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell:
but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD” (Joshua 24:15). What is
your decision? Do not let fear hold you captive.
Sing: I have decided to follow
Jesus. I have decided to follow Jesus. I have decided to follow Jesus, no
turning back, no turning back.
Thought For
Today:
“And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, how long halt ye between two
opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the
people answered him not a word.” (1 Kings 18:21)
