Immediate Action
“They joined themselves also unto Baalpeor, and ate the sacrifices of
the dead. Thus they provoked him to anger with their inventions: and the plague
brake in upon them. Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and so the
plague was stayed.”
(Psalms 106:28-30)
Today’s Morsel: One of the fundamental procedures that the military teaches its soldiers is that of how to apply immediate action in all situations whether it be in combat, peacetime, or during their day-to-day activities. As a soldier, you never know what situation you may find yourself in, and you need to know what to do to save your life as well as the life of someone else. When the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord and provoked Him to anger, God sent a plague into the camp upon the people. Many people were affected by it. And so to curtail the evil, Phinehas took immediate action by killing those who were sinning against God and those who were the cause of it. We need to evaluate our lives and determine the cause of the problem that may be occurring. Sometimes you may need to take immediate action to cut people off to stop the evil and confusion that keeps coming against you in your home and life as well as for others.
Sing: Victory is mine. Victory is mine. Victory today is mine. I told Satan to get thee behind, victory today is mine.
Thought For Today: Don’t be afraid to get rid of evil.
