The Danger of Iniquity
“If
I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:”
(Psalms 66:18)
Today’s Morsel:
I often wonder if the delay in our prayers is due to sin in our lives.
The Lord told Solomon, “If
I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour
the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; If my people, which are
called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and
turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive
their sin, and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:13-14) Isaiah warned, “Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it
cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities
have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face
from you, that he will not hear.” (Isaiah 59:1-2)
Having been give warning
and understanding here with these two passages of scriptures, have you searched
yourself for hidden sin? Is there immoral or grossly unfair
behavior in your life? Is there wickedness, sinfulness, and immorality
hidden in your heart? If so, confess it to Jesus. You don’t want to keep
having your prayer unanswered. Always keep the telephone line to
glory open. It is easy, just clear the line with repentance.
Sing: Create
in me a clean heart, Oh God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me
not always from Thy presence, Oh Lord, take not Thy Holy Spirit from me.
Restore unto me, the joy of Thy salvation and renew a right spirit with me.
Thought For Today: “Keep
the telephone line to glory open.”
