Happy Birthday Army
“And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse;
and he that sat upon him was called
Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His
eyes were as a flame
of fire, and on his head were many
crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And
he was clothed with a
vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the
armies which were in
heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the
nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the
winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a
name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” (Revelation
19:11-16)
Today’s Morsel: Today
we celebrate the U.S. Army Birthday. For 244 years, this great nation has
been blessed to have such great men and women serve in its Army to maintain the
freedom and peace of their homeland, and their allies, while liberating
others. And so we honor those soldiers of past, present, and future
who have sacrificed and are sacrificing daily to maintain peace and
freedom. President Coolidge penned it best when he said, “The Nation that
forgets its defenders will itself be forgotten.” We take time to honor
the U.S. Army for a job well done and say thank you for 244 years of dedicated
and committed service to this great nation. We salute you.
Sing:
Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord; He is trampling out
the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored; He hath loosed the fateful
lightning of His of His terrible swift sword; His truth is marching on.
Glory, glory, hallelujah,
Glory, glory hallelujah, Glory, glory hallelujah, His truth is marching on.
Thought For Today: Happy
Birthday, Army… Hooah!
