2014 July 16 - Morning Manna

When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee: to deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things; who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness (Proverbs 2:10-13).

Today’s Morsel:  Because the Spirit of God gives us wisdom when we are filled with the Holy Ghost, the same Spirit directs us and keeps us.  God is a righteous God; therefore, we as His children should know how to do what is right.  James said, “Therefore to him that knoweth to do good and doeth it not, to him it is sin” (James 4:17).  Doing right is the opposite of doing wrong.  If you continue to do wrong after you have been shown how to do right, you are no longer a child of God but a child of the devil (I John 3:10).  Solomon said that once wisdom enters into your mind and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul, discretion (carefulness, maturity, tact, diplomacy, and caution) shall preserve you and understanding shall keep you. “Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding” (Proverbs 4:5-7). What is the most important thing to you?

Sing: He leadeth me! He leadeth me! By His own hand He leadeth me; His faithful follower I would be, for by His hand He leadeth me.
