2014 July 4 - Morning Manna

To him that smote Egypt in their firstborn: for his mercy endureth for ever: And brought out Israel from among them: for his mercy endureth for ever: With a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm: for his mercy endureth for ever. To him which divided the Red sea into parts: for his mercy endureth for ever: And made Israel to pass through the midst of it: for his mercy endureth for ever.  Psalm 136:10-14

Today's Morsel: After being in bondage for over 400 years, Israel probably felt that this would be their livelihood forever. But they failed to realize that God had made a promise to their forefathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob that He would deliver them from bondage. Like so many today who are in bondage to this world, God has still promised deliverance to those who call upon His name.  Today, America is a free nation because men and women were willing to sacrifice themselves that she might be free.  Therefore, we should never take it for granted.  No my friend freedom is not free.  It always costs someone their life.  And Jesus was willing to be our sacrifice that we might be free.

Sing: No more shackles, no more chains, no more bondage I am free.

Thought For Today: "The gospel still has the power to make one free."
