2014 July 11 - Morning Manna

"By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith" (Hebrews 11:7)

Today's Morsel: When we hear the story of Noah, most people associate it with the building of the ark.  But few capture what the writer of Hebrews says about the reason he built that ark.  First, Noah was warned by God that He was going to destroy the earth.  Anytime God gives you a warning, you had better take heed.  God gave Noah a warning and Noah moved with fear.  In other words, Noah took to heart and respected what God said was going to take place, and so he prepared the ark to save his house, which was his family.  The Bible also says that Noah condemned the world.  Noah said, "I'm not having anything to do with this place because God is getting ready to destroy it. And so I'm preparing a vessel for me and my family to be saved." (paraphrased thought)  And because he built that ark to save his family, he did what was right.  If you aren't preparing something to save your family or living in a way to save your family, check your righteous button.  Every time you read,in the Bible that God is going to destroy this earth, your faith should kick in and you should be moving with fear getting your house in order to save you and your family.  This scripture is sound doctrine.  As Paul told Timothy, "Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee"(1 Timothy 4:16).  So let me encourage you, get ready now.

Sing:  I'm getting ready to leave this place, I'm getting ready for the gates of pearls.  Keeping my record right, watching both day and night; well, I'm getting ready to leave this place.
