The Army Goes Rolling Along
“And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries? And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant?” (Joshua 5:13-14)
Today’s Morsel: Today, the US Army will celebrate its 250 years of existence. We call it the Army’s Birthday. Around the world, soldiers will celebrate this day with parades, unit runs, balls, parties, and even a day off. For over 250 years the US Army has proven time and time again that they are ready for whatever duty or task that they may be called upon to fulfill. They have fought for America and her ally’s freedom on every continent in the world. The US Army flag is filled with screamers reflecting every battle and conflict that she has endured. Many have worn her uniform with distinction and have represented her to the world. She stands as a torch for liberty, a beacon of hope for the wayward, and a light for all who are oppressed and tormented. When Joshau saw a man with His sword drawn ready for battle, he needed to know if the man was for them or their enemies. The answer that He received was, No, the man said, I am the captain of the host of the Lord. Be assured, God won’t allow you to fight your battles alone.
Sing: Gods got an army, it’s marching through the land, deliverance is their song, there’s healing in their hand; with everlasting joy, and gladness in their heart, well in this army I’ve got a part.
Thought For Today: Happy Birthday, Army! Hooah!
