Protecting The Foundation
“If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” (Psalms 11:3)
Today’s Morsel: The foundation for which we must build our lives upon is that of Jesus Christ. Paul states: “For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 3:11) What we build our lives and spiritual growth upon must be Jesus. As everything that we build and hope that will last must be based on Him and His word. Whatever we build, whether physical or Spiritual will be tested. We have seen over the past few years, that when Covid hit, many whom we thought had built, or were building their lives upon Jesus and His word, soon crumbled and fell. And sadly we have not seen them around the church since. While others who had built their lives on Christ and His word, are still just as strong or stronger as before Covid hit, and they are growing, and have even advanced more in their walk, relationship, and calling with God. The Psalmist asks if the foundation be destroyed what can the righteous do? What will you do if the church as we know it were to cease to exist? What would you do if you were commanded not to preach nor teach in the name of Jesus? Of if the church you attend could no longer have their weekly services? What would you do if you were taken captive and commanded to denounce Christ as your Lord and Savior? Have you considered these things? Commitment to Christ doesn’t happen in the heat of battle. Commitment to Him begins at the onset of your calling. Today is the day to make your calling and election sure.
Sing: I have decided to follow Jesus, I have decided to follow Jesus; I have decided to follow Jesus, no turning back, no turning back.
Thought For Today: The gospel isn’t about you, it’s about Jesus.
