When God Requires An Offering
“And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering.” (Exodus 25:1-2)
Today’s Morsel: Sometimes in scripture we see that God will require of us to do certain things. When God requires of us to do certain things, it is not for His purpose, but for ours. For example, when God tells us to forgive others who do us wrong, it’s not for them it’s for us; as God knows that if we harbor bitterness in our heart, it will take root and can cause us stress, depression, fear, and anxiety, and may even cause us to harm someone. When He tells us to have no other God before Him, it is not that God is concerned with His identity, it’s for our good as other gods will cause us to turn our hearts from truth and the living God and serve devils, which will lead us into hell. So, when God commanded Moses to tell the children of Israel to bring Him an offering, it was not for Him, but for them. He informs them why He wanted them to bring Him an offering: “And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them.” (Exodus 25:8) It was for them to have a place where they would always know that God was with them, as man will more times than not walk by sight and not by faith. When you give your tithe and offerings to God, it’s not for Him, it's for you, so that you will always know that your church is a place where God will meet with you, if the truth is taught and where his name is proclaimed.
Sing: Taking this offering that I bring, humbly I fall on my knees; to proclaim You’re everything. My life’s nothing without You, take my hand and lead me through, You are my sustaining love. I live to worship you. I live to worship You.
Here I am to worship You, with all I am, worshiping You, bowing down in spirit and truth, with lifted hands worshiping You.
I’m gonna worship You forever, I’m gonna worship You.
I’m gonna worship You forever, I’m gonna worship You.
I’m gonna worship You forever, I’m gonna worship You.
I’m gonna worship You forever, I’m gonna worship You
Here I am to worship You, with all I am, worshiping You, bowing down in spirit and truth, with lifted hands worshiping You.
Thought For Today: Giving is a form of worship you know!
