Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2016 September 14

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
(2 Corinthians 4:7-10)

Today’s Morsel:  One of the things about life is that we have to learn how to manage it.  Life is one of those things that if we let it get out of hand it can create problems for us that we may not know how to deal with.  Paul said that we are troubled on every side, yet not distressed. No matter where we go, we are going to face trials and troubles. Whether it’s our own or those of others.  But that doesn’t mean that God has not given us a way of escape from them.  As Paul said, “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it” (1 Corinthians 10:13).  This is why we should not be distressed. We can always go to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Sing:  Grace!  Grace!  God’s Grace.  Grace that will pardon, and cleanse within.  Grace!  Grace!  God’s Grace! Grace that is greater, than all our sins.

Thought For Today: The trouble you face may be to keep you humble.
