2015 January 31 - Morning Manna

And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him. The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. And Jesus said unto the centurion,  Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour. (Matthew 8:5-13)

Today's Morsel:  What is it about a child's cry that a mother realizes something definitely isn't right and they come running?  I have seen kids cry and their parents just get annoyed with them.  But then, as soon as that intonation changes to the tone that says, "Where's mom," they come running.  Well, faith is somewhat like that with Jesus.  We may cry out and He doesn't come.  But then there is that intonation that gets His attention and He says, there is something is wrong with my child.  The faith of the centurion was so that he amazed Jesus; and nothing really amazes God. The centurion's faith was so strong in Jesus' abilities that Jesus went 'WOW!  I haven't seen this kind of faith in all Israel' (my wording). When God says that, you've got great faith.  This is the faith that all of us should have in Christ.  Scripture says: "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him" (Hebrews 11:6).  If you want Him to do what you are asking of Him, let Him see your WOW faith.

Sing: Touching Jesus, is all that really matters, and your life will never be the same; There is only, one way to touch Him, just believe when you call on His name.

Thought for Today: Faith as a child will get God's attention every time.
