2015 January 10 - Morning Manna

Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this will we do, if God permit.
(Hebrews 6:1-3)

Today's Morsel: I have come to realize that when people backslide and fall away from truth, it is because they never moved on to perfection.  For some unknown reason, they got into a holding pattern, and didn't not see the need to go forth.  It's easy to get into a holding pattern if you are not willing to share your faith with others and tell them about what Christ has not only came to do, but what He's done in your life. The more Bible studies you teach, the more you are moving into perfection.  As you are studying to teach others, you, yourself, are developing spiritual and mentally in the things of God.  If all you know is the basic principles of salvation, you aren't growing in Christ.  Peter tells us to add to our faith (2 Peter 1:5-11), and to grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ  (2 Peter 3:18).  Acts 2:38 just got you on the right road, but it is going to take a life of daily commitment and dedication to God's word to make it all the way to the end.

Sing: I'm learning how to lean, and depend on Jesus, He's my friend and He's my guide. I'm learning how to lean, and depend on Jesus, I found out, that if I would trust Him, He will provide.

Thought for Today: Study to show yourself approved unto God.
