2015 January 29 - Morning Manna

Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?... Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you" (Matthew 6:25; 31-33)

Today's Morsel: It seems that folks are concerned about many things these days.  And their focus on those things are causing many to forgo their walk with God.  But how is the gold so soon become dim? Can you think of anything that is more important to you than eternal life?  Jesus came for one purpose, and that was so we may have life and that more abundant.  Eternal life is what He came to give.  We can say He came for other things, but the main purpose was to give us life.  He wants each of us to live and reign with Him in heaven forever and ever.  But if we focus on what we will eat, or what we will drink; what we will put on, or other things of this world, we may miss out on eternal life. Jesus said that He already knew that you would have need of those things, so not to worry about them; but rather focus on the things that will bring you eternal life.  What we need to focus on is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.  That's the Kingdom of God (Romans 14:17).

Sing:  I'm gonna view that holy city one of these days! You know, I'm gonna view that holy city one these day, hallelujah! I'm gonna view that holy city, view that holy city one of these days, one of these days.

Thought for Today:  What's more important than eternal life?
