2010 October 12 - Morning Manna

For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people, Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you. Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry. And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission (Hebrews 9:19-22).

Today's Morsel: Today, almost all automobiles need gasoline to run. The manufacturer made it to run off of a certain type of fuel. The gas that is used must be clean and of a certain octane if the automobile is to run without problems. The Lord formed man from the dust of the earth. But all living creatures have blood within them and none of them can live without the blood. If the blood becomes unclean or defiled, orif there is a large loss of blood, it can cause serious aliment or death. Under the law, the blood was instituted by God for purification. The blood was used for the remission of one's sins. It brought about cleansing and forgiveness. It was the blood that the high priest took when he went into the Holy of Holies before the Mercy Seat of God once a year to present an atonement for the sins of the people. The writer said that almost all things were purged by blood. Somethings were purged by water and fire, but when it came to the forgiveness of sins, God said only blood would be used. Therefore, any person who desires for their sins to be remitted will have to be baptized in Jesus name, as that is when the blood of Jesus is applied to one's life. As Peter said on the Day of Pentecost "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost" (Acts 2:38). Jesus shed His blood on Calvary for all. And today that is the only blood that can be used for the forgiveness of sins!

Sing: What can wash away my sins? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. Oh precious is the flow, that makes me white as snow. No other fount I know, nothing but the blood of Jesus!
