2010 June 16 - Morning Manna

But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat? And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink? Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not. So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do (Luke 17:7-10).

Today's Morsel: The Boy Scouts Of America's Creed says, " On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight." How would you say that you stack up to this creed in your daily walk with God? We must all fulfill the duty that Jesus sent us to do. The Great Commission is a must for all believers. Jesus said that when we have done all the things which are required of us, to say that we are unprofitable servants. To work for Jesus in His vineyard should be seen as a high honor. Do you look at going to church, reading your Bible, witnessing, supporting missions, tithing, and giving to the work of the Lord of your time and talents as part of your duty? One of the things we must realize is that we cannot be delegate responsibility. We can only be given authority, and responsibility comes with our authority. When you were baptized in Jesus name, it gave you the authority to operate in His name and on His behalf. Therefore, the things that I mentioned afore becomes your duty and responsibility to do. Let me encourage you today, don't leave any task that Jesus asks you to do undone. The current payment may not seem like much, but the retirement benefits are out of this world!

Sing: Jesus use me, O' Lord, don't refuse me, surely there's a work that I can do; and even though it's humble, Lord help my will to crumble, though the cost be great, I'll work for you.
