The Fulfillment
“Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.” (Matthew 5:17)
Today’s Morsel: There
were many things said by the prophets of old about Jesus and what He would do,
but many of the people in those days, and even today, did not understand
because of the hardness of their hearts. Jesus said that He did not come to
destroy what the prophets had said, but to fulfill what they had said about
Him. And once those prophecies were fulfilled, Jesus cried out, "It is
finished." With the fulfillment of those prophecies, we can now know
who Christ was and live our lives with joy and excitement because He has made a
way for us to know Him through His Word and life. Do you know Him in His
fullness?
Sing: Joy to the world! The Lord is come; let earth receive her King. Let every heart prepare Him room, and heaven and nature sing, and heaven and nature sing, let heaven, and heaven, and nature sing.
Thought For Today: “ Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled
which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be
with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel,
which being interpreted is, God with us.” (Matthew 1:22-23)
