The Helper
“The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob
defend thee; Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion” (Psalms 20:1-2)
Today’s Morsel: One of the
things that we see in scripture that God quickly made after the creation was a
helper for Adam. Eve. God said that it was not good that man should
be alone. And so He would make him a helper. And we see this same
concept with God throughout scripture. He tells Israel when they are
having to face their enemies that He will help them. He tells His
disciples that after His resurrection that He will send them a helper.
And He encourages us with the same words, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee:
be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help
thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” (Isaiah
41:10) God is not about to leave us alone without help. David wrote
that The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of
the God of Jacob defend thee; Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen
thee out of Zion.
Believe me, if you honestly believe and trust God, He will not let you be
without a helper.
Sing: What a friend we have in Jesus, all
our sins and griefs to bear. What a privilege to carry, everything to God
in prayer. Oh, what peace we often forfeit, oh what needless pain we
bear, all because we do not carry, everything to God in prayer.
Thought For Today: Jehovah Jireh … The
Lord that provides!
