Good-Bye
“Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him
the lips of knowledge.” (Proverbs
14:7)
Today’s Morsel: One of the
hardest things for some folks is to cut loose their old so-called
friends. Once we are born-again, we have to decide if we are going to
keep hanging with those same old people that we hung with before we were
saved. Solomon said, “Go from the
presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of
knowledge.”
Paul told the church, “Be ye not
unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath
righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with
darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that
believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with
idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell
in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my
people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord,
and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a
Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord
Almighty.”
(2 Corinthians 6:14-18) If we continue to
hang with people without knowledge, they can draw us back to our old way of
life. It is time to make some decisions in our new life and possibly cut some
ties.
Sing: Just a little while to stay here, just
a little while to wait. Just a little while to labor, in the path that’s
always straight. Just a little more of trouble in this low and sinful
state; then we’ll enter heavens portals, sweeping through the pearly gates.
Goodbye! Goodbye! Goodbye world, goodbye!
Thought For Today: The fear
of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.
