Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2018 October 3

“Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways. Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes. Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways” (Haggai 1:5-7).

Today’s Morsel:  When is the last time you’ve stopped to consider your ways?  Does it often feel like you are never getting ahead in life?  Does it feel like all you do is work, work, work and never get any advancements?  Does it always feel like no one is appreciative of the things that you do?  Do you feel as though life has handed you a bag of lemons?  Then when is the last time you considered your ways?  The Bible tells us, “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ” (Colossians 3:23-24).  Every so often, we may need to stop and do a self-evaluation to ensure we are not doing things for our own self-glory and negating the things of God.  What does your church giving account look like when it comes to your time, talents and treasure?  Ensure you are giving of yourself for the right reason, the right purpose, and the right cause.

Sing:  Open the eyes of my heart Lord, open the eyes of my heart, I want to see You, I want to see You.  To see You high and lifted up, shining in the Light of Your glory, pour out Your power and love as we sing Holy, Holy, Holy.  I want to see You.

Thought For Today:  Have you considered eternity lately?
