Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2018 April 30

“But as God is true, our word toward you was not yea and nay. For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timotheus, was not yea and nay, but in him was yea. For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us” (2 Corinthians 1:18-20).

Today’s Morsel:  We hear a lot from Veterans today that the promises made to them are not being kept. However, we hear politicians saying that they are going to fulfill those promises, but never about when.  The Bible says, “For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise” (Hebrews 6:13-15).  One of the things about promises is we must have the patience to wait for them.  Abraham and Sarah tried to help God out with His to them, and we see what condition the world is in today because of it.  The things that God promises us we can be assured He will fulfill.  We just need to trust Him and wait on His timing.  He knows what is best in our lives.

Sing: Standing on the promises of Christ my King, through eternal ages let His praises ring, glory in the highest I will shout and sing, standing on the promises of God.Standing, standing, standing on the promises of Christ my Savior.  Standing, standing, I’m standing on the promises of God.

Thought For Today:  He will fulfill what He has promised.
