“Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it” (Isaiah 1:16-20).
Today’s Morsel: One of the longest-running game shows on television is, “Let’s Make A Deal.” During the game, if a contestant wins, they are offered a deal for something better. However, they could get something worse than what they have. They call that a zonk. You see, that’s what Satan does to so many. He tells them let’s make a deal. You give up the church and that Jesus stuff, and I’ll give you something better. But most people soon realized it was a zonk. However, with Jesus, when He says let’s make a deal, He tells you what He will give you, so you know you’re not going to get zonked. He says, “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” If we want freedom, then we must be willing to exchange our sins for it, because freedom is never free!
Sing: I came to Jesus weary worn and sad, He took my sins away, He took my sins away. And now on Him, I roll my every care, He took my sins away.
Thought For Today: What are you willing to exchange for freedom?
