Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2017 November 25

"Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint."  (Proverbs 25:19)

Today’s Morsel:  I have heard it said that a sprained ankle is worse than a broken foot.  But Solomon says that having confidence in a person who isn’t faithful in times of trouble is like a broken tooth and a foot out of joint.  Both are so far from being of any use, the one in helping you to eat food, and the other in walking, they are both a hindrance and cause pain and uneasiness.  They are both nagging and painful.  One of the surest ways you can determine if a person is faithful is to observe their obedience to God.  If they will not tithe, they are already unfaithful and sooner or later they will be unfaithful to you. Paul said, “Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful” (1 Corinthians 4:2).  Therefore, to be like Jesus requires faithfulness.

Sing: To be like Jesus, to be like Jesus, on earth I long to be like Him.  All through life’s journey, from earth to glory, I only ask to be like Him.

Thought For Today:  How’s your faithfulness?
