Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2017 September 15

"Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul." (Hebrews 10:35-39)

Today’s Morsel:  General George Patton is known for many great leadership quotes.  I like reading books about his leadership.  One of his quotes that I like is “Courage is fear holding on a minute longer.”  What a great definition of courage.  The ability to hold on just a little longer in your fear.  Paul admonishes us to just hold on because Jesus will come.  As Daniel's fears were mounting around him due to his vision, an angel appeared unto him and said he to him, “Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia. Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.” (Daniel 10:12-14).  Can you hold on just a little while longer in your fear?  Jesus will come.

Sing:  “Hold the fort, for I am coming,” Jesus signals still.  Wave the answer back to Heaven, “By Thy grace we will.”

Thought For Today: “Courage is fear holding on a minute longer.” George Patton
