Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2017 July 10

I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works. I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.” (Psalms 9:1-2)

Today’s Morsel:  What is your favorite praise song?  Is there one that you’ve made to give God praise?  Why do we feel that we must sing the songs that others have already written to praise God with?  What if those songs were only how they felt at the time in their lives?  What do you think moved David to write and sing the songs that he did?  I believe that it was that he realized God’s goodness toward him.  And so to show his thankfulness to God, he wrote words that would express his thanks to God for His goodness towards him.  Why not make your praise song today to Him for His goodness and mercy toward you?  Sing unto the Lord a new song!

Sing:  When I offer praise to You for what You’ve done for me, it’s not that I am worthy of it at all.  But You’ve shown me You care, and that You’ll always be there, and so I offer this praise up to You.

Thought For Today:  Praise is just another way of saying thanks.
