Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2017 July 21

“Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led. Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.” (1 Corinthians 12:1-11)

Today’s Morsel:  I believe that Spiritual gifts should be in operation in every church of the people who confess to being born-again believers.  The thing about Spiritual gifts is how they are to be used in the church.  We may not possess all of them in our present life, at this time, but we should pray and seek God to have all of them, and to gain an understanding of the proper use of them in our life and in the church.  Paul mentioned that there are gifts of healing.  I believe that this gift is three-fold; physical, mental, and spiritual.  The woman with the issue of blood, spoken of in Mark 5, was in need of all three types of healings.  She needed physical healing because of her blood condition.  She need mental healing because she had spent all of her money and no one could find a cure and she was seen as being unclean.  She need spiritual healing because she was excluded from the house of God; As faith comes by hearing the word of God.  I believe that if people can be healed mentally and spiritually, they can become overcomers and serve God even in their physical infirmities.  Only Jesus can satisfy and heal the soul.

Sing: Lord, You know I need a brand new touch, my strength from yesterday is gone, but if You give me Lord another touch, I’ll have the strength to carry on.

Thought For Today:  Jehovah Rophi, the Lord our Healer!
