But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.
(1 Peter 2:9-12)
Today’s Morsel: How many times would you say that you have heard someone quote 1 Peter 2:9? “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.” What do you do when you hear it? Do you examine yourself to see if you are living your life as it states? Honorable living is one of those things that we must strive for if we are going to see Christ. To be called out of this world by Christ for a chosen purpose isn't something we can take lightly. God chose us the same way that He did Israel, to reflect Him in this earth before others. We were not a part of God’s family. But He chose us to become a part. He adopted us and put His Spirit in us so that we would become His sons and daughters. And now, we must reflect our Heavenly Father and His ways in our life. Are you living honorably for your Father?
Sing: He chose me! He chose me! Out of all the people in this world. He chose me! He chose me! And He can use me, till He uses me up.
Thought For Today: Are you living honorably?
