2013 May 23 - Morning Manna

"And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten. For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another. And when Judah came toward the watch tower in the wilderness, they looked unto the multitude, and, behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none escaped. And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them, they found among them in abundance both riches with the dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in gathering of the spoil, it was so much. And on the fourth day they assembled themselves in the valley of Berachah; for there they blessed the LORD: therefore the name of the same place was called, The valley of Berachah, unto this day"
(2 Chronicles 20:22-26).
Today's Morsel: One of the things I always like about the valley is that everything seems to be green and beautiful. I seem to find more things in the valley then I do on the hill top. In the valley, I usually come across streams, different flowers, different trees, and even see different creatures. Granted there are great things on the hill top, but peace and serenity seem to come to life in the valley. David said, "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever" (Psalms 23:4-6). To some, the valley is a scary place. But when you know that God is there with you, there is no need for fear. The Bible says that when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them, they found among them an abundance both riches with the dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in gathering of the spoil, it was so much. And on the fourth day they assembled themselves in the valley of Berachah; for there they blessed the LORD: therefore the name of the same place was called, The valley of Berachah, unto this day. The word Berachah means, "Blessings." This place was called the valley of blessings all because God destroyed their enemies for them and left much spoil for them. When you allow God to fight your battles for you, you too will receive the spoil of your enemies and be blessed of God.
Sing: We are blessed, we're blessed, we are blessed, we are blessed; we have shelter, food, and clothing and we are blessed. We are blessed, we're blessed, we are blessed, we are blessed, we don't deserve it but yes we are blessed.
