2012 December 13 - Morning Manna

Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all; But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father. Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world: But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. (Galatians 4:1-7)
Today's Morsel: There for a while, many wanted to see President Obama's birth certificate to prove that he was an American citizen. Granted, there have been many fake birth certificates by some to gain access to certain countries and privileges. A birth certificate can do just that. Paul informs us, "But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father." He said that we were adopted into the family of God. I don't know about you, but I was lost without Jesus in my life. Paul told the church at Ephesus, "For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God" (Ephesians 3:14-19). Christians are all named after Jesus Christ. We take on that name in the waters of baptism. John tell us, "In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother" (1 John 3:10). Whose family do you belong? Always remember, the acorn does not fall far from the tree.
Sing: God sent His son, they called Him Jesus, He came to love, heal, and forgive; He lived and died to buy my pardon, an empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives.
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow, because He lives all fear is gone; because I know He holds the future. And life is worth the living just because He lives.
