But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: (1 Peter 3:15).
Today's Morsel: Have you ever encountered one of those people who, as soon as they see you they want to talk, they tell you all about what the Lord is doing in their lives? I like these types of folks. It shows that they aren't afraid to share their faith. It shows that they are spending time with Jesus and are devoted to His Word and church. They seem to be excited and full of joy. In many ways, I think that Joseph may have been this way. He was sharing his dreams so much with his brothers that they got mad and sold him into slavery. When Pharaoh's wife tried to seduce him, he said, "I can't do this evil and sin against God." When Pharaoh had a dream and was told that Joseph could interpret dreams, Joseph said, "It is not in me: God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace." His focus was on talking about what God said and what God could do. Peter said that we should, "Sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear." Are you timid and shy when someone asks you about Jesus or starts talking about Him. Are you drawn into the conversation or do you withdraw from it? Let me encourage you, don't hid your light, there may be someone on the brink of giving up and you may be the spark that they need to hear to keep them in the fight.
Sing: Let's talk about Jesus, The King of kings is He, The Lord of All Supreme, throughout eternity; The Great I Am, The Way, The Truth, The Life, The Door, let's talk about Jesus, more and more!
