2011 July 16 - Morning Manna

Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, do not ye serve my gods, nor worship the golden image which I have set up? Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made; well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands? Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up. (Daniel 3:14-18)

Today's Morsel:  Would you take a stand for God if the odds were against you.  Would you be willing to tell of His love if you knew you were going to be cast into prison or into a fiery furnace?  I'm told that daily some people are giving their lives for the love of Jesus and to represent Him.  I knew a man who spent 12 years in prison in China for his faith in Jesus.  If we say that we love Him, then we shouldn't be afraid to take a stand for our faith as well.  The enemy's goal is to make you fear others when it comes to your love for God.  It would have been easier for Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego to bow as everyone else, but they made a choice not to.  Paul ask us, "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:35-39). Nothing should separate us from the Lord, especially from His love.

Sing:  Stand up and tell it if you love my Jesus, stand and tell it if  you love my Lord; I want to know, yes, I want to know, if you love my Lord.
