2011 May 21 - Morning Manna

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. (Hebrews 12:1-3)

Today's Morsel: Are you trying to run the race with weights on?  Are you carrying excessive baggage?  Are you carrying the weight of guilt, failure, past hurt, misunderstanding, rejection, divorce, letdown, or lies?  Are you one of those who can't see the blessings and benefits of God  because you are weighed down?  The Psalms call for us to lift up our heads and the Lord will come in.  Solomon said, "A stone is heavy, and the sand weighty; but a fool's wrath is heavier than them both. Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before envy?" (Proverbs 27:3-4).  The aforementioned things are like stone and sand.  They weigh you down so you can't run.  And pretty soon you are going to become discouraged and depressed that you may give up and give in and miss the finish line.  You need to remove those weights and run this race with patience looking unto Jesus.  You need to see Jesus at the finish line waiting for you and the crowd of great witness on the side cheering you on.  "If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small" (Proverbs 24:10)

Sing: 1. I'm trading my sorrow, I'm trading my shame, I'm laying it down for the joy of the Lord.  I'm trading my sickness, I'm trading my pain, I'm laying it down for the joy of the Lord (Chorus)
2.  I'm pressed but not crushed persecuted not abandoned; Struck down but not destroyed. I'm blessed beyond the curse for his promise will endure, and His joy's gonna be my strength. Though the sorrow may last for the night, His joy comes with the morning. (Chorus)
Chorus: And we say yes Lord, yes Lord, yes yes Lord; Yes Lord, yes Lord, yes yes Lord;Yes Lord, yes Lord, yes yes Lord Amen!
