"I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together. I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing" (Psalms 34:1-10).
Today's Morsel: There was a famous slogan by a potato chip company many years ago that said, "Bet you can't eat just one." What they were saying was that if you taste just one of our chips, you aren't going to be able to stop at only one chip, you are going to want more. And I have to agree, they were good. In fact, I still buy them today! As I walk through the food courts at the mall, they are always offering small samples of food for people to taste in hope that they like the taste and want more. So be careful of the taste!
David said, taste and see that the Lord is good. In other words, if you will just try Jesus, you are going to see that He is good and you are going to want more of Him. I know I do, each time I taste Him. As a matter of fact, I got tired of just tasting and I went for the whole thing. And now, every time I open my Bible to read, or attend church, it is like sitting at a smorgasbord. I feel like the Psalmist when he said, "How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!"(Psalms 119:103). Jesus is MMMMmmmmmm Good!
Sing: Sweet Jesus! Sweet Jesus! He's the source of all creation, He's the hope of every nation, He's the God of our salvation, bless His name.
