Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven (Matthew 5:14-16).
Today's Morsel: It's amazing how far you can see light in the dark. A few days ago we were flying back from Uganda to America, and our flight was a night flight. When we landed in Ethiopia at 7PM, there weren't many lights, but when the plane departed at 12Pm, the entire city was full of lights and you could see just how big the city of Addis Ababa really was. All because the lights were shining.
Jesus said that we are lights which are sat upon a hill that cannot be hidden. As His children, we should be shining bright everyday in this world, as the world in which we live is a very dark place. Sin seems to be on the rise. Satan's forces seems to be controlling this world. The deceiver of the brethren is on the war path. If there has ever been a time that the Christian's light should be shining, it is now. Our dress and appearance, our attitudes, our discipline, our speech, and our actions should all represent Jesus to a lost and dying world. We must burn brighter than ever before. Paul said that we should give no room to the devil and that sin should not have dominion over us. Jesus said that we should let our light so shine before men, that they may see our good works, and glorify our Father which is in heaven. Do others see Christ in you? Are you burning bright? If no one is talking about you, your light isn't burn to bright and no one is following you.
Sing: This little light on mine, I'm gonna let it shine. This little light on mine, I'm gonna let it shine. This little light on mine, I'm gonna let it shine, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine. Hide it under a bushel, NO! I'm gonna let it shine. Hide it under a bushel, NO! I'm gonna let it shine; Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.
