A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones (Proverbs 17:22).
Today Morsel: It seems that everyone that I talk with or visit, is on some kind of medication. People seem to be taking medication for everything from weight loss, aches and pain, to headaches. Everyone seems to be plagued by some type of ailment. I keep telling people that medical personnel are only "practicing medicine", but no one seems to listen to me. You tell them (medical personnel) where your pain is, what you feel like, they ask you a few questions, and then they say, "Let's try this and see if it work." When you return and say it didn't work, they give you another prescription to try. That's practicing.
Jesus just asked, "Will thou be made whole?" And it happened. Jesus knew what the problem was and He took care of it. He didn't send people away with a bag of pills. Solomon said that a merry heart doeth good like a medicine. If you keep yourself uplifted with the Joy of the Lord in your heart, and think on good things verses evil things, and you let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord, and whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him; your trips to the medical facility are going to be minimal, as Jesus is the antidote for all your troubles.
Sing: One touch of His hand and my troubles are gone, one touch of His hand, and I'm not left alone; Every heartache must flee at the Master's command, Hallelujah, I'm free, at the touch of His hand.
