Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them (Luke 11:44).
Today's Morsel: It's amazing to me the number of Christians that have no knowledge or understanding as to what their church's doctrine or teachings are. They spend no time studying or searching to see if what is being taught is according to the word of God, or if it is man made. Many churches today are still living and operating under the Old Testament Law, even if some may think they aren't. The Scribes and Pharisees were holding to Old Testament ways, and Jesus wanted them to see that their teachings were doing nothing but digging graves (burying people), and people would be walking in them and not know it. We all must be aware of teachings, as a grave is a place of death. Living under doctrines and teachings that do not strengthen you and cause you to become more like Jesus in holiness and purity, and separation from the world, are doctrines of death. So let me encourage you today, don't sit on that pew and just listen only, but open the Bible, study the doctrine and teachings you are being taught, and see if it's in accordance with the Word of God. Remember, Jesus came to give us life, not death.
Sing: God's not dead, He is alive, God's not dead, He is alive; my God's not dead, He is alive, I feel Him and He's keeping me alive.
