Take Heed

“And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”

(Matthew 24:4-14)

Today’s Morsel: Have you been listening and wasting your time with social media drumming up the fear tactic of the end times? Don’t get me wrong, I believe that we had better be ready for the soon coming of the Lord. I believe we are getting closer and closer to Jesus’ soon coming. But we cannot live in fear of His coming, we must live in excitement and joy of His coming. As Paul said that for me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. So, either way, we win. Jesus lays out what the end times will look like, and then He tell us not to be deceived by false teachers. There is a lot of loss and sorrow going on in the world right now. There is the drum beat of war and rumors of wars. There are kingdoms rising against kings. And there are famine and earthquakes in diverse places. The hate for Christians is coming, but the church has yet to be persecuted. This is the piece that we must get ready for. This is the piece that we need to prepare our hearts for. Now is the time to get things settled in your mind. Now is the time to determine if you are going to stand for Jesus or kneel to Satan. So take heed now, and you’ll stand when the time comes and you need to make the decision.

Sing: I’m not sorry, I’m not sorry, I’ve answered the Master’s call. Jesus took my heavy load, and now I’m on the glory road. And I’m not sorry, I’m not sorry, I’m not sorry anymore.

About Morning Manna

And it came to pass, as Aaron spake unto the whole congregation of the children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and, behold, the glory of the LORD appeared in the cloud. And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel: speak unto them, saying, At even ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread; and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God. And it came to pass, that at even the quails came up, and covered the camp: and in the morning the dew lay round about the host. And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground. And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat (Exodus 16:10-15).

“Morning Manna” is a short daily devotion which began in 2002, with just a short note of encouragement to a friend who was facing difficulties at the time. Through their response, I was encouraged to begin a daily devotion via email and send it to people who asked to be put on the distribution list. It is now reaching around the globe. Its birth came about during Morning Prayer. The Lord revealed to me that I should forward my friend a word of encouragement, since it is through patience and comfort of the scripture that we find hope. Thus, I forwarded him the words the Lord had given to me for him, and he forwarded it on to someone else who was having difficulties in their life as well, and thus the original list began.

The goal of “Morning Manna” is to provide people with a quick, thought provoking Word from the Lord, as well as provide encouragement from His Word that can help them through the day and during unexpected trails and circumstances in their daily lives.

Several years ago, Jesus moved on my heart to start writing daily devotions; thus began “Morning Manna”. Today, many people are receiving these daily devotions and many of these people are forwarding it on to their family and friends. It is my hope to encourage even more through posting the devotions to this blog-page.
