Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 7 November 2020

 Prayer

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus(1 Timothy 2:1-5)

Today’s Morsel:  The story is told of a gentleman who had to be at work incredibly early in the morning and he loved to pray. The church was located on the route heading to his job, so he always made time to stop, run in, and say, “Lord this is Jim. I'm stopping in to say I love you.  I want to thank you for this day, for giving me health and strength, for my family, and for my church family and coworkers.”  And off he would go to work.  Well, as the story would have it, Jim took sick. And while he was lying on his sickbed in a coma, a presence came into the room early every morning, and a still small voice said to him, "Jim, this is Jesus.  I'm stopping in to say I love you."  The Apostle Paul told Timothy, “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”  Your prayer life can have an impact on someone else.  Even if you are not able to see the people that you are praying for, they can still be effective worldwide.

Sing:  Whisper a prayer in the morning.  Whisper a prayer at noon.  Whisper a prayer in the evening, so keep your heart in tune.

Thought For Today:And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint(Luke 18:1)
