“Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein: I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles; To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house. I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images”
Today’s Morsel: If you have ever acted in a play, you know that your role and part is key and essential to the success of the play. Your part may seem insignificant to you if it is small, but to the writer and conductor, it’s very important. God said through the prophet Isaiah that He called you in righteousness. In other words, God chose you to aid in bringing about that which is right. In Luke 4:18-19, Jesus states, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord” (Luke 4:18-19). If you are called of God, and born-again, you are now the ‘Anointed Ones’; and you must now help bring into fruition that for which you were called - Righteousness. Don’t see your role as being insignificant. Rather see yourself as having a lead role. And play your part to the fullest.
Sing: Who is this who comes with healing for the halt, the blind, the lame, saying softly to the sinner “Follow me. Only come in faith believing, as of old the people came. And the lame shall walk the blind against shall see.”
It is Jesus! Jesus! Sad one, weep no more! He will heal the brokenhearted, open wide the prison door. He is able to deliver evermore.
Thought For Today: Soul winning gives you a lead role. (Parker)
