2014 August 27 - Morning Manna

A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.
(Proverbs 29:23)
Today's Morsel:  My wife and I were doing our morning devotion as we try to do together every morning and we came across a passage about humility.  And a thought  came to my mind about how to have and maintain humility in my life.  The thought was, "Hum a song of thanksgiving while you serve others."  Think about it.  You are thanking God through inward song for your ability to serve others.  Matthew records that during the last supper, they sang a hymn before they went out into the Mount of Olives the night that Jesus was arrested to be crucified (Matthew 26:30); and John records that Jesus arose up and began to wash their feet (John 13:13-15).  An example of true humility.  I would not be surprise if Jesus was still singing while He washed their feet.  If we keep self out of the way, we too can all be humble servants.

Sing:  We fall down we lay our crowns at the feet of Jesus. The greatness of mercy and love at the feet of Jesus. We cry holy, holy, holy; we cry holy, holy is the Lamb.

Thought for Today: "A humble spirit is like the cream in milk"
